Bulb Planting Day!
On October 25, 2013, every Kindergartener planted two crocus bulbs in the Interactive Garden. The children learned how to plant bulbs, drew pictures of the garden, read books from the garden library, and most of all enjoyed planting! They learned that the bulbs will form roots in the fall, will “hibernate” during the winter, and then will wake up and bloom in the early spring.
On November 2,2013, Families and neighbors joined for Bulb Planting Saturday, and we planted daffodils and tulips in the Interactive Garden. We also accomplished a lot of little “garden chores” to prepare the garden for the winter. What a perfect day to enjoy our living green oasis in a city-sea of pavement.
We invite you to come see the garden with the fall colors, and ask your child where they planted! We look forward to find the crocuses in March, and wonder what colors they will be….
